QUT has a strong track record in attracting government, industry, private and non-profit funding to support innovative research programs. QUT researchers are inspired to find real solutions for end users in the community.
Recent achievements include:
- Being awarded a $28 million federal government grant to establish the Wound Management Innovation Cooperative Research Centre and $12 million to extend the Cooperative Research Centre for Infrastructure and Engineering Asset Management
- Being awarded a $7.5 million federal government grant to establish the Australia Prostate Cancer Research Centre (Qld) in collaboration with the Princess Alexandra Hospital
- Ranking in the top 10 institutions nationally for new collaborative research projects with industry funded under the Australian Research Council's ARC Linkage – Projects scheme
- Being awarded $2.4 million under the Australian Research Council's Linkage-Projects scheme to support the "Airports for the Future" research project
- Being awarded $1.3 million from the Queensland Government under the Smart Futures Fund National and International Research Alliances Program to support the "Solar Powered Nano-Sensors for Data Acquisition and Surveying in Remote Areas" project
- Receiving significant funding from the state and federal governments and Atlantic Philanthropies for the development of a world-class Science and Technology Precinct at the Gardens Point campus in Brisbane's CBD.
Success at securing funding is underpinned by QUT's acknowledged strength in applied research, and our ability to translate research outcomes into real-world solutions.
QUT's Office of Research supports researchers through the application process by:
- Helping find the right external grant opportunity for your research
- Assisting with developing research collaborations with university, research organisation, government, community and industry partners
- Providing advice and assistance with grant applications, negotiation of contracts, and managing the grant process.
