Feel like there's always too much going on in your life to cope with postgrad study as well? At QUT, we hear you. So we've made it as easy as possible to fit study into your life. With flexible hours and clever technology that frees you from the rigid cycle of on-campus lectures and library work. And if the demands on your time unexpectedly become too much, QUT happily offers support and solutions to keep you on track.

Learn at a time and place that suits you.

Flexibility. At QUT, you're not locked into attending 9 to 5. Many subjects are offered as evening classes. We also have weekend blocks, or you can study some subjects externally.

Mobility. We deliver many course materials online. Teaching websites and online databases mean you're not tied to a campus. Chat groups allow for valuable group interaction from wherever you are.

Engaging. QUT lecturers are firm believers in using innovative interactive teaching techniques to engage and stimulate their students.

Access. Some lectures are streamed live on the web, so you can stay up with the latest if you're out of town, or stuck at work or home.

Technology. QUT's impressively equipped 24-hour computer labs are havens where you can focus on your work. There are wireless zones on campus so you can access the web via your laptop. We have staff trained to help you. And no need to heft piles of heavy books. Most journals and documents you'll need for your research are available online; search the libraries of the world from home if you like.

Good people. The academic staff - as well as our small army of support and administrative staff - are surprisingly accessible at QUT. When you want to speak to a real person, you can.

Study at your own pace

Easy does it. If you're worried about your workload, you can take your time. Complete as little as one subject per semester.

Safety net. If your life or work takes an unexpected turn which makes studying difficult, you can take a leave of absence from QUT, then when you're ready, pick up where you left off.

Ready now? No need to wait till the new year to get started. Many postgrad courses offer a mid-year intake. Go for it.

Accelerate. If you'd like to get through your course more quickly, you may be able to complete a subject over the Christmas-New Year period. And if you're doing an MBA at QUT, you can complete subjects in intensive six-week blocks.

Milestones make study more manageable

Hasten slowly. Whatever your field of interest, QUT gives you more options. This means you may not have to commit to a two or three year course, if a shorter qualification could quite effectively advance your knowledge, or your career. Consider, perhaps, a Graduate Certificate as a first step. Then if you wish, you could advance to a Graduate Diploma or Masters Degree later.

Choose to take on more work or less work, as and when you please.

QUT is postgrad-friendly

At both QUT campuses, we provide countless well-run facilities and convenience services to help make the postgrad experience simpler, less stressful, safer, and more pleasurable. Here are just a few, providing solutions to issues which may have crossed your mind as you ponder postgrad.

Childcare. QUT campuses have childcare centres run by trained professionals. Childcare is available for extended periods, or by the hour - useful for when you need to make campus visits at short notice. Click here for childcare details.

Parking. Car, motorcycle and secure bicycle parking is available at both campuses. For details of the best facilities - including the many CBD car-parks within a few minutes' walk of the Gardens Point campus - click here for parking information.

Inter-campus bus. Shuttle buses run constantly between Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses. They're free, and exclusive for QUT students. A blessing if you work in the city and study at Kelvin Grove. Buses leave approximately every 15 minutes, and the trip from one campus to the other takes around five minutes.

Security. Postgrad students studying after hours can feel secure in the knowledge that QUT campuses are patrolled at all times. Security escorts and call points add to the feeling of safety, plus the free night shuttle bus drops off at major carparks and train stations in the CBD.

Shopping. The Kelvin Grove precinct features a supermarket, ATMs, and a variety of cafes and food stores and Gardens Point being so close to the CBD, makes it easier to organise life's other essentials. QUT campuses also have well-equipped gyms and lap pools.

Think about it

In your favour. You've made it this far, so we imagine that you're a positive kind of person. So think for a minute of the positives. QUT offers clever solutions for almost every challenge you're likely to face as a postgrad student.

QUT campuses and teaching methods are geared towards making your whole experience a rewarding one. Your career will almost certainly benefit from your new-found knowledge.

And rather than being a burden, studying in a field related to what you do at work can actually enhance your performance at work. So what's stopping you?

"QUT's central city location meant it was convenient for me to get to and from work. I was able to apply the theory and practical experience from the course to my position on a day-to-day basis. Studying at QUT was a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people and, by virtue of the small class sizes and the closeness of the teaching staff and students, it has produced some long-term acquaintances." - Leigh Eagle, Graduate Certificate in Business graduate 2006
