Event coordinator Jasmin Henery, from QUT Student Engagement & Sport, said registrations were on track for a field of around 1500 runners and walkers of all ages.

“Apart from being a great community event, the QUT Classic’s big aim is to raises money for low income students to help them attend uni.  We donate $2 from each registration, plus all profits, to the QUT Learning Potential Fund,” she said.

“There’s always a great atmosphere on the day and we have lots of free live entertainment planned in before and after the Classic, including a DJ, dance performances, free massages and – for our younger participants – face painting and a balloon artist.”

Participants can tackle a 1km course, 5km course or 10km course, which all start at QUT on Gardens Point Road, at the foot of the Goodwill Bridge, in the Brisbane CBD.  The 1km course goes around the Botanic Gardens and the longer courses head over the Goodwill Bridge and through South Bank and the CBD.
