Legal Practice
QUT Legal Practice has been providing quality practical legal training to law graduates for more than 30 years.
We have close relationships with many leading Queensland solicitors, barristers, and judges who assist us by teaching students, providing materials, assessing advocacy skills, and providing on-going advice to keep the course up-to-date and relevant.
Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (PLT)
This highly practical postgraduate course satisfies the practical training requirement for admission to the legal profession. We have three streams for the course:
- Part-time (in practice): designed for people already working in a law office
- Part-time (general): for people who are not working in a law office and wish to complete the course part-time
- Full-time: for people who wish to complete in the shortest possible time as full-time students.
Bar Practice Course
We host the Bar Practice Course on behalf of the Queensland Bar Association. The Bar Practice Course is usually a prerequisite to being able to practise as a barrister in Queensland.
Trainee Solicitor Program
This program satisfies the approved training requirement for law graduates in supervised workplace experience programs (formerly articles of clerkship) in law firms.
