Courtrooms

Our eMoot Court is one of Australia's most advanced electronic courtrooms containing state-of-the-art information, communication technology and audio-visual integration. New technology in the courtroom revolutionises document management and provides new methods of displaying evidence and exhibits.

We use the court to educate students in the applications of new technologies to the courtroom and the legal profession. Our graduates will have a thorough understanding of the application of law office technology and the ways in which lawyers can use workflow, communications, multimedia and computerised legal research to improve their efficiency.

Current facilities include:

  • Video conferencing which allows for mooting competitions between universities across Australia 14 multimedia computers with Internet and Library database access
  • For the Record system which allows for video and audio recording of court and trial sessions including automatic audio and video switching (software used by real courts across Australia)
  • data projection facilities.

The equipment is controlled by a touch screen, which includes the ability to send information, such as evidence, to any of the 25 display screens.

Training sessions

Training in the electronic courtroom procedure is available to judges, barristers, litigation lawyers, paralegals and court managers. Training sessions can be created to suit the needs of your practice, chamber or court.
