School of Early Childhood
About the school
We pursue excellence in teaching, research and community engagement. We maintain a commitment to lifelong learning related to young children and families in local, national and international contexts.
The School of Early Childhood is a strong advocate of high quality provision for children and families through its consultative evidence-based leadership with government and community bodies. We advocate for children's human rights to provision, protection and participation as articulated in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child 1989.
We promote opportunities to listen to the views of children on issues pertinent to their lives and to advocate for improvements in services for children.
We are involved in specialist teaching, research, professional and community engagement activities. All members of our school specific roles and responsibilities and provide leadership in aspects of Early Childhood related to their expertise. Our staff respect Early Childhood Australia's Code of Ethics and seek to apply the code in day-to-day decision-making.
