Kelvin Grove Teacher Education Centre for Excellence

Kelvin Grove Teacher Education Centre for Excellence is a unique partnership between Kelvin Grove State College, the Department of Education, Training and Employment and our Faculty.

Our third year Bachelor of Education students studying Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary education are given the opportunity to be a part of a specialist group of 25 students for the final 18 months of their degree.

Students in this program benefit from:

• weekly mentoring and classroom experiences in Kelvin Grove State College and partner state schools with a personal mentor teacher
• weekly meetings at our specialist Teacher Education Centre for Excellence facility at Kelvin Grove campus for induction in specialist state school experiences
• field experience in state schools both in Brisbane and in South West Queensland - a district of 211 schools from Toowoomba to the borders
• financial scholarships for Commonwealth fees for two fourth year QUT units
• financial sponsorship for internship and preferred employment status in South West Queensland EQ schools on graduation.
