Research success

Our research in communication and media studies has earned a ranking of world standard or above (top rating of 5) in the 2010 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) initiative results. QUT is one of two universities in Australia and the only university in Queensland to receive a top rating of 5 in this research area. In addition, our emphasis on practice-led research has resulted in national and international recognition for the Faculty.

Research support

Our research students are supported by a variety of support services which may include:

  • desk and computer for full-time students
  • short-term laptop loan
  • photocopying, limited stationery items, telephone and fax for project-related activities
  • computing labs and student rooms
  • research support funding.
