QUT has made significant contributions to international communities through its participation in international development assistance projects and consultancies.
The Office of Commercial Services works in cooperation with QUT faculties to pursue these opportunities.
It has achieved Quality Certification as a commercial interface between the University and industry, government and the professions in regards to consulting services, international projects or basic contract research.
In particular, the International Projects Unit (IPU) is a significant player in delivering a vast number of strategic training programs and consultancy services in Asia, Africa, and the Pacific Islands. The IPU has implemented over 800 projects in more than 44 countries.
qutbluebox ("bluebox"), the University's technology transfer and commercialisation company, is responsible for commercially exploiting research outcomes developed at QUT. Bluebox licences intellectual property rights to industry, as well as forming start-up companies based on QUT research.
