July 2006 - Hot news: QUT's Engagement Publication
Work has begun on a dedicated publication that will tell the story of engagement at QUT. The publication will be a small book that will combine scholarly writing on university engagement with case studies and vignettes that highlight QUT's unique contribution in this area. July 2006 - QUT's ARC Linkage Grant success
QUT has surfaced as a dominant national player in the most recent round of Australian Research Council linkage grants having secured $4.1 million to fund 16 research projects. June 2006 - News from the inaugural Knowledge Transfer and Engagement Forum
At the inaugural Knowledge Transfer and Engagement Forum held in Sydney from 15-16 June, Minister Julie Bishop examined higher education's contribution to the knowledge economy. In Minister Bishop's keynote address she shared her perspectives on:
- The Research Quality Framework (RQF)
- Knowledge Transfer and what may be supported with new funding
- The engaged university.
Former QUT Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International and Development), Professor Sandra Harding addressed the conference providing her perspective on the critical role of engagement to the success of modern universities.
