You can start putting your business studies into action by taking up some of these extracurricular opportunities.
Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)
SIFE is the world's largest university-based, free-enterprise organisation, operating in over 40 countries, and with nearly 40,000 active students.
As a SIFE participant you'll work in a team with mentorship from QUT Business School Advisors and a Business Advisory Board.You'll learn, practise and teach the principles of free enterprise, while developing your own leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
Get involved with SIFE and create, manage or participate in projects, or work in roles that support these projects and the chapter.
Sponsorships
We encourage you to participate in a range of national and international activities that provide you with the opportunity to expand your networks, be immersed in different cultures, and broaden your professional development.
We offer you several sponsored activities each year. Previous sponsored activities include Harvard Model United Nations, National Student Leadership Forum, and the Asia Pacific Cities Summit.
International Competitions
Through our international student competitions you will:- have the opportunity to develop your skills against leading international business schools around the world.
- build on the skills and knowledge attained in your business degree
- apply this knowledge in front of judges from multinational organisations.
Since 2011 QUT Business School teams have competed in case competitions against teams from over 50 international standard universities. We have taken first place in:
- the USA
- Thailand
- Singapore
- Canada.
We believe this makes us the most successful team in the world for 2011-12. This is an outstanding achievement and highlights the standards of Business education and students at QUT.
Student Associations
You can participate in QUT Business School's student associations to help build your networks, gain access to industry events and add to your university experience. Student associations are a great way to make friends and meet professionals from your study area.
