New Economics Program
A new economics major and minor will be available at QUT from semester 1, 2013. The new economics major (a major is a group of eight related units) increases flexibility for students, allowing them to choose between a policy-focused (applied stream), or a more quantitative stream. Alternatively, students can select units from both streams. These changes have been well received by the professional community.
In addition, the existing economics units have been updated and new units have been introduced to allow students to choose some topical and stand-alone elective units, as such Economics for the Real World.
The economics minors (a minor is group of four related units) have also been redeveloped to help students focus their learning.
