Grant King
QUT Business Leaders' Forum featuring Grant King
Grant King is one of Australia's top corporate leaders. He has been Managing Director of Origin Energy - a $13 billion company and one of Australia's largest integrated energy businesses - since the company was formed 13 years ago.
Grant King ran AGL's gas division before heading Boral's energy business, which was hived off to create Origin. For the last 20 years he has been a driving force in building Australia's energy industry, and is the only Australian in the recent Harvard Business Review list of the world's top performing CEOs.
It has been a tough year for Origin, with a recent second profit downgrade for the company in 3 months, a cost blowout in its $25 billion Liquefied Natural Gas Project in Queensland and a credit ratings downgrade.
At this forum Grant King will describe his personal journey and what it takes to be a leader. He will outline his vision for Origin and the energy industry, and what, he believes, will follow the peaking of resources investment in the next few years. Grant will also address some of the controversial issues surrounding the drilling of coal seam gas wells in the western downs area, and why, despite some recent setbacks, Origin can still deliver on its promises.
It will be a pleasure to welcome back one of Australia's leading journalists, Kerry O'Brien, as moderator.
Join us for this powerful QUT Business Leaders' Forum luncheon event with one of Australia's most respected business leaders, Grant King.
