The Cube – inspiring young people to enjoy science and technology like never before.

18 February 2013

Now open in QUT's Science and Engineering Centre, The Cube is one of the world's largest digital interactive learning and display spaces for science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). The Cube will be the hub of scientific exploration for high school students, the QUT community and the wider public. It will inspire and engage the next generation of thinkers and doers with a year-round calendar of workshops, activities, exhibitions and events for children, young adults and the general public.

The Cube soars across two storeys of the new Science and Engineering Centre and comprises over 40 multi-touch, multi-user screens. The interactive screens provide a game-like environment where people of all ages can engage in learning about STEM in a fun and educational setting. School students can explore science and technology applications by participating in Lego Education® robotics workshops, knowledge treks, digital tours and hands-on holiday programs.

Organisations will be able to connect with The Cube for complex data visualisation, simulation and modelling and for investigations with QUT researchers around mining portfolio visualisation, building information models, smart transport, robotics and disaster scenarios. From August 2013, The Cube will be available for hire as a unique event space for large-scale presentations, company events and workshops.
