Encourage student entrepreneurship

QUT Innovation Space

Would you like to help our students become the entrepreneurs of tomorrow?

The QUT Innovation Space (QIS) is an entrepreneurial learning space where students learn real-world skills for developing initial concept ideas into the products of the future. Working in teams, students learn the business and enterprising skills required to be successful entrepreneurs under the guidance of business mentors. Entrepreneurship is a learn-by-doing approach, and the QIS is all about active learning and training from real-world people.

Become a mentor

We are seeking entrepreneurial professionals willing to volunteer their time to guide student teams through the business development process. Mentoring may take as little as one hour per week. If you are interested in shaping the next generation of entrepreneurs, then we have opportunities for you to mentor student teams.

Become a guest lecturer

Become involved in the teaching and learning experience and assist in the development of student skills by becoming a guest lecturer. Your experiences and knowledge are valuable learning tools. Participation can be on a continuing basis or as a one-off lecture presentation or workshop. We can work to your strengths.

Support the space

You can also support the QIS by sponsoring activities such as events, learning modules, competitions or the project costs of teams.

If you would like to become involved with the space, contact the QUT Innovation Space.
