QUT aims to provide one of the best learning environments for students in Australia. The university is a learning community in which teachers and students work together to create a quality learning environment. As such, students are regularly asked to provide feedback on their experiences of units and teaching. Commencing from first semester of 2007, the Learning Experience Survey (LEX) has been administered to students for this purpose in all non-research units for all teaching periods, replacing the Student Evaluation of Units and Student Evaluation of Teaching.

Information provided by students is used to make decisions on what QUT can do at the unit, course and university levels to enhance the learning experience of our students. Students indicate areas that can be improved and this feedback is an essential resource supporting a continuous process of monitoring and improving units and teaching practice. Strategies have been incorporated into the QUT Learning and Teaching Plan to address suggestions for improvement. Education programmes and services assist teaching staff to perform at the highest possible standards.

The following tables provides the aggregated data from the feedback that students have provided via the Learning Experience Survey on the individual units and the teaching within them during 2007. This has been reported at the DEST 4 digit Field of Education (FOE) level. The tables include mean scores and details of the number of respondents within the field of education.
