A number of mailing lists are available to the staff of QUT, including special interest groups. QUT staff can join the following mailing lists through their personal page in QUT Virtual.
- qut.employment – Advertise QUT positions.
- qut.seminars – Advertise seminars, PhD candidatures etc.
- qut.classifieds – Staff buy, sell/swap/rent.
- qut.staffdev – Staff development notices and advice.
- qut.forum – Discussion of University and public issues.
- qut.parking – Parking information is distributed by the parking office.
- qut.misc – Any other matters not fitting the above categories.
- service-monitor – Updates staff on the current status of all major online services at QUT.

Equity email groups
- Equity Forum is an email group open to all staff and students who are interested in receiving and sharing information on equity related programs and activities.
- Staff Diversity Network is a staff network and email group for any staff member who strongly identifies with, or is willing to support, people of non-English speaking or cultural backgrounds.
- WomeNet is open to all women staff at all levels in academic, research, technical, and general positions at QUT.
- Gay and Lesbian Staff Network (GALNET) is an information and support network for lesbian and gay staff at QUT.
