Students have access to various systems and services to help them develop essential knowledge and skills for succeeding at university. These include:

People who can help with developing these skills include:
- Academic Skills Advisors and Librarians, professional staff to assist with researching and writing assignments, and developing effective study and learning skills
- Librarians, experts in finding, evaluating and using information
- Language and Learning Advisors can help international students improve their study skills
- Peer Advisers (PAs) are experienced and successful students who can help with a range of study-related issues and can be contacted through the Library help desks
- Peer mentors, who can help students adjust to university studies

Where to go for assistance
QUT Library provides free information and research skills workshops to help students find, use and manage information efficiently. Free academic skills workshops are also offered to help improve students' study and learning skills.
Librarians and Peer Advisers are available on Library Help Desks to provide one-on-one assistance. Academic Skills Advisers can also be contacted for individual consultations (upon referral).
PILOT, an online tutorial about using the Library and information resources effectively, and online academic skills tutorials are also provided to help students succeed in their study.
