Study abroad and exchange

The university provides for QUT students to study overseas and gain credit towards their degree, and for overseas students to come to Brisbane and complete part of their studies here.

QUT students going overseas

If you are a QUT student who is interested in going overseas to study on exchange, the university's Student Exchange Program offers you an opportunity to study for one or two semesters at an overseas university and earn credit towards your QUT degree. The Student Exchange Program is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, providing students an excellent opportunity to learn about different cultures, develop an international network and enhance career opportunities.

QUT has student exchange agreements with partner institutions in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Europe, Canada, Japan, South-East Asia, and the United States of America. Please check the list of partner institutions carefully, as some student exchange agreements are faculty based: only students from a specified faculty may take part in the program.

For further information about partner institutions, please e-mail exchanges@qut.edu.au to arrange a time to speak with staff from the QUT Student Exchange area or to access the Exchange Program Resource Collection. Do not e-mail the Exchange Office at the overseas university.

Overseas students coming to QUT

Overseas students can come to Brisbane to study at QUT for a semester or a year under Exchange or the Study Abroad Programs.

QUT has student exchange agreements with partner institutions in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Europe, Canada, Japan, South-East Asia and the United States of America. If you are undertaking a degree at a partner institution and are interested in studying at QUT on exchange, please contact the Exchange Coordinator at your home university.
