QUT's graduates have tasted success across Australia and around the world ... now one of the university's best-known exports is coming home for the QUT Open Day on July 26.

Business and creative industries graduate Dean Vowles has shared his Hong Kong career and adventures with viewers in recent TV ads and will be a special guest at this year's open day.

The QUT Open Day will be held at the Gardens Point campus in the Brisbane CBD from 9am to 3pm on Sunday, July 26.

On the day, Dean will take part in a QUT Business School seminar on double degrees where he will answer questions about life after uni and where his study has taken him.

Other graduates from across all faculties will also take part in the day and talk to visitors at each faculty information tent. QUT's current Rhodes Scholar, mathematics graduate Brody Foy, will also be on hand to answer questions.

Dean Vowles majored in advertising and TV production at QUT in Brisbane and is now a digital strategist with Digitas LBi Hong Kong.

"QUT set me up for the biggest career move of my life," he said.

"The work experience and internships I completed as part of my creative industries and business double degree helped me gain confidence and led to a paid job.

"My career highlights so far include landing a job in Hong Kong and getting to work on projects that span the entire region, from China to Malaysia. Also, helping create and execute real-time, award-winning content campaigns for Samsung and IGA Australia was great fun and great experience."

The QUT Open Day is aimed at school leavers and their families, as well as mature-age students.

Staff and students from all faculties (Business, Creative Industries, Education, Health, Law, and Science & Engineering) will be on hand at Gardens Point campus to chat about courses, careers and uni life.

Information will also be available on scholarships, financial help, exchange opportunities, student clubs and other topics.

Visitors can also take a free shuttle bus to Kelvin Grove campus to tour the creative industries and health facilities.

People who register online for the QUT Open Day prior to the day will also go into the draw to win a MacBook Air!
