Families in the Caboolture area are invited to bring their children to the QUT campus there on 1 July for a day of free school holiday fun that doubles as a one-stop-shop for health checks.
QUT Health Clinics Manager Allison Vautin said the day would include foot checks, vision screening, dietary and lunchbox advice, education and development assessments, and entertaining hands-on activities for kids.
Supervised final year students from QUT's Faculty of Health will be conducting the checks and following the enormous popularity in previous years, numbers will be limited to 120 children so bookings are essential.
"This free comprehensive screening event will run from 9.30am to 2.30pmat the QUT Caboolture campus on the corner of Tallon and Manley Streets and will be a lot of fun for children and parents alike," said Mrs Vautin.
"There will be cooking demonstrations throughout the day, music and giveaways for the children who come along.
"For QUT it is a fantastic opportunity for our Faculty of Health students - the next generation of healthcare professionals - to give back to the community and gain invaluable practical experience in a community outreach setting."
The QUT Health Clinics are based at the university's Kelvin Grove campus and aim to provide quality clinical education and patient care to the community.
