The current Director of QUT Library Services, Judy Stokker, has been appointed QUT's new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Technology, Information and Learning Support).

She will commence her new role at the university on January 6.

Ms Stokker has 30 years experience in a range of positions in academic libraries as well as experience in information technology and information management services.

As Director of QUT Library Services for the past seven years, she has established a reputation for personal energy, professional capacity and team leadership.

She has been a key player in the strategic transformation of QUT's multi-campus library and information services, which has included a strong focus on improving service, research and learning support and information management.

Nationally, Ms Stokker is deputy president of the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL).

She is also the inaugural chair of the Australian Open Access Support Group, an open access advocacy group formed in 2012 by Australian institutions with open access policies.

Ms Stokker succeeds Professor Tom Cochrane, who is retiring from the DVC (TILS) role at the end of 2013 after 30 years of service to QUT.
