The Australian Centre for Health Services Innovation (AusHSI) is delighted to announce a new partnership with Queensland Health’s Integrated Care Innovation Fund (ICIF).

Queensland’s Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) and Primary Health Networks (PHNs) will develop and progress new models of care and innovative approaches to integrated service delivery under the $35m fund before AusHSI
helps evaluate their outcomes.

AusHSI will deliver health services evaluation and study design to assess the quality and effectiveness of initiatives funded by the ICIF. As part of the project, AusHSI will also build skills with short courses in a number of key areas: cost-effectiveness, statistical analysis, and implementation science.

The ICIF represents a $35m investment from the Queensland Government – the largest single investment in integrated care initiatives in Queensland, and one of the largest of its kind in Australia.

QUT Professor Nick Graves, Academic Director of AusHSI, heads up the project, supported by Clinical Director Will Parsonage and a team of expert health economists, implementation specialists and statisticians.

“Queensland Health has established the Integrated Care Innovation Fund to inform future investment in sustainable models of healthcare across the state,” Professor Graves said.

“AusHSI is proud to lend our know-how in health service innovation to evaluate and build skills to support the ICIF and its projects.”

AusHSI’s evaluation of the effectiveness of 20 ICIF-funded projects will help inform HHSs and PHNs across Queensland to deliver new evidence-based practices leading to better outcomes for patients. This significant program will span over two years, with an expected completion date of the end of 2019.

The ICIF supports HHSs to collaborate with local PHNs and other community health providers to develop new models of care that make health services in Queensland more accessible, efficient and sustainable.

AusHSI is a research, consultancy and training organisation. Combining leading-edge knowledge with hands-on, practical experience, AusHSI partners to deliver innovation and improvements for better health services.
