Foundation's edge: artists and technology @ QUT Art Museum

16 March 2013

This new exhibition at QUT Art Museum explores the work of artists who embrace retro and obsolete technologies to move past our fixation with the "new".

Foundations edge: artists and technology presents work by artists who challenge the intended use of technological devices, pushing them to realise their potential as an art medium.

The featured artists are Michael Candy, Lawrence English, Benjamin Forster, Caitlin Franzmann, Ross Manning, and Ken and Julia Yonetani.

Works include experiments in drawing, sound, light, optics, movement and space through the deconstruction of everyday devices such as printers, record players, televisions, projectors, mobile phones and cameras.
