New library a learning hub for Caboolture

08 January 2013

Caboolture's new library is open!

A vibrant and engaging space, the new library has been designed as the learning and social hub of the campus.

Caboolture Library Manager Nicole Healy said students will benefit from more individual study spaces, technology-equipped group areas and more computers.

"As the campus has grown, so has the activity in the library," Ms Healy said.

"We're excited to have a fantastic purpose-built space for our students to use."

"The building features collaborative and social areas that are visible from outside spaces and contribute to a bustling vibe on campus."

Ms Healy said the interior design has been themed around the meaning of the word 'Caboolture' as well as flora and fauna from the local area.

"Caboolture was the traditional home of the Kabi Aboriginal people and the name was derived from Kabi words meaning place of the carpet snake," she said.

"The colours, textures, finishes and furniture beautifully complement this theme and draw inspiration from paperbark trees, melaleucas, pebbles, creek beds, mangroves and of course the iconic carpet snake."

"We're very proud of this new space and welcome everyone to drop in to see the library for themselves next time they're here."
