Hi, My name’s Freyr Patterson and I hold a Master of Public Health through QUT.

This degree is perfect for people like me. Professionals already in the work force looking to expand their knowledge and skills in terms of the broader issues that impact on health and the delivery of health care services and also work towards long term career goals.

I chose to study at QUT for a number of reasons. It’s an internationally recognised university. It also provided a really flexible setting for me to complete my study. I studied full time from London, part time from Bangladesh and part time from Melbourne when I was working as an occupational therapist.

There are options in this degree to specialise or study across a broad range of subjects. You can also choose to focus on research or course work, or both. I specialised in Health Promotion and the thing that I enjoyed the most about my study was learning about the things that impact on peoples decisions about their health and subsequently their behaviours that they do in relation to their health.

I’m currently working as an Occupational Therapist with clients with brain injuries and my Masters Degree in Public Health has not only provided me with a broader understanding of health and the health care system but it’s also helped me to develop leadership skills and work towards achieving my career goals.
