If you come into the undergraduate program in Human Resource Management, you're really going to focus on understanding people in organisations.

Simone Pinheiro - Wesley Hospital

I started off as a full-time student studying HR and then found a job here at Wesley Hospital casually. Quickly became a full-time employee and had the flexibility to start studying part-time.

Greg Southey

There are more professional positions in Human Resource Management now than at any point in time in Australia. And one of the really good things about our program is that our graduates get employment in the field very quickly and in very large numbers.

Matt Brady - Thiess

I've had an opportunity to work for a number of different organisations including Shell, and Bowing, BHB Billiton, and now Thiess.

One of the tends is for our graduates to join international companies so that they do work off shore. We help prepare them for that by addressing international material in our normal units.

Matt Brady - Thiess

I've lived and had my children born in London and the Middle East, based in Qatar. I've had the opportunity to work in countries like India and the Philippines, in Poland, in Scotland, in Guatemala, and in Malaysia.

The Capsoon unit in the HRM major is actually called Personal and Professional Development. And that really focuses on the student as an individual and their career. And so as the HR major is about understanding people, one of the first things you need to do is understand a little bit about yourself.

Simone Pinheiro - Wesley Hospital

People are a fundamental part of any organisation and any industry, so working in HR gives you an opportunity to really understand how that's of value to an organisation and how you can support that important resource.

Matt Brady - Thiess

When you're working in human resources you have the opportunity to bring together a unique proposition for the organisations you work towards. People is the true unknown variable, we've all different, we're all unique, and we all bring something to that, and when you're trying to align an organisations goals to actual peoples individual goals and desires, it then can be quite an excellent thing to watch all that come together and deliver some real business outcomes but make a difference to the communities that you touch as well as the business that you're performing in.
