Hi, I'm Kaya Lobaczewski. I studied at QUT, I did a Bachelor of Business Communications with an extended major in Advertising and now I'm here in New York at Tribal DDB Worldwide. I'm the manager of Global Programs and I organise anything to do with the corporate face of Tribal, managing corporate initiatives, the corporate website and also knowledge management solutions - so any way to help offices communicate with each other and liaise with each other on projects.

Associate Professor Robina Xavier

We try prepare our graduates for the real world as much as possible. So we try and make sure they understand what it will be like when they really get out there and do the types of jobs that we're preparing them for. And that's why we make sure that we bring practitioners in and make them understand what will happen in their jobs when they go out.

My course prepared me for the advertising world because it was filled with a lot of practical elements and lecturers that work in the industry for a very long time and usually currently in the industry at least consulting. I have worked on clients including McDonalds, Neutrogena, Dyson, Phillips and so on.

Associate Professor Gayle Kerr

QUT has always been a leader in Advertising Education in Australia. It was the first university in Australia to offer a bachelor degree in advertising and we've had a lot of universities follow our lead and use QUT as a role model. So we deliver a program that I believe is still the leading program in Australia.

Philip Taylor

QUT seemed to be a bit more modern, a bit cool. It wasn't sort of like a traditional university it was sort of more youthful and understood more about what we wanted from a university experience.

I'm really passionate about what I do because it's a really fun industry. It's a great industry to be in if you want to work in a business environment, but you don't want that stifled, kind of corporate world. You're always working with people that are crazy and really smart and strategic and you're always having the opportunity to just have a different day every single day.

Associate Professor Gayle Kerr

This is probably one of the most exciting times to study advertising because advertising is just driven by technology and it's just changing everything we do.

Philip Taylor

If you're thinking about doing advertising I say give it a shot because it's something that - it's about consumers, it's about you, you can really relate to it and it's really interesting.

Kaya Lobaczewski

I love what I do and I couldn't have been here without my bachelors degree.
