Hi I’m Kylie, I’ve just completed my Bachelor of Behavioural Science and Psychology here at QUT.

With a degree in Psychology you’re able to move on to more academic stuff like honours, masters in clinical psych PhD if you’re up for that. Or you can move into the more real world stuff like working in counselling or therapy, maybe even HR.

The great thing about studying this degree is that you’re able to specialise in areas such as forensics, family therapy and road safety. You can also take up other classes in faculties like law, business, and science as well. This degree has a placement course, which is very valuable because it allows you to go out to different workplaces and gain some real experience.

The staff here at QUT are very helpful, they give you a helping hand whenever you need it, their supportive and approachable which I think is a very important thing and because they work in the real world they have really great practical experience which they are happy to share with us.

The highlight of my degree was being able to work in research with a professor at QUT. We worked on a project looking at beliefs and attitudes of organ donation in Australia. So I’m really passionate about Psychology and I guess that’s the main reason why I decided to do this course at QUT. Just being able to understand why people do the things they do and  how they act around each other, I think is probably one of the most interesting and exciting things about this course.
