My name is Helen and I’m doing a Master of Social Work at QUT. By doing the Master of Social work I had the opportunity to fast track from two years to one year and by doing that I was able to do a personal learning plan and take my time and do my studies from home. Occasionally I would come into the university for intense courses but most the time I spent my time doing my study at home using Skype, iPods and interacting with other students online by using the Internet.

Having the opportunity to work with the professionals that delivered the lectures and tutes and the intense workshops have been a real eye opener and a support that they come from the real world and they have that experience of sharing their expertise and their learning and their understanding with the students for the social work profession.
