My name is Charlene, I have completed a Bachelor in Clinical Exercise Physiology.

At the moment I’m working in a variety of settings such as Musculoskeletal Rehab and Corporate Wellness and Health Promotion. I enjoy it so much that when I basically wake up it doesn’t feel like a job.

Other allied health professionals refer patients to us if they want us to prescribe exercises for them. When a patient comes to see me they can get their money back through Medicare or their Health fund.

The practicum opened my eyes up, it basically showed me what I want to be and what field I want to pursue. Basically all the knowledge we use at the university, we apply it to the real world.

It is a big field; you can help someone with all kinds of conditions, which I thrive on. You can go to cardiac rehab, respiratory rehab. Cancer actually is a big one lately as well but my patient is in musculoskeletal rehab. You feel like you’ve impacted someone’s life and you know that it’s going to impact their family as well as the longevity of their entire life.
