STIMulate

STIMulate supports students across QUT by providing assistance with skills in maths, science and IT. You can get help with maths, science or IT concepts no matter what course you are doing. All you have to do is ask. 

Programs include:

  • drop-in study spaces
  • free drop-in assistance from experienced Peer Learning Facilitators
  • online resources
  • group support sessions for specific topics run by staff
  • statistical symposia for postgraduate students

Drop-in study spaces

We have drop-in study spaces at Gardens Point, Kelvin Grove and Caboolture.

Our study spaces encourage collaborative work between students in the social learning areas provided. Drop in anytime to use computers, meeting desks and resources such as books and worksheets available for all students. There are also Peer Learning Facilitators, experienced students who have excelled in units you are undertaking, on hand to help you with any problems you have.

Our GP drop in center even has a self-serve kitchen.

Learning resources

We have mathematics, science and IT worksheets and questionnaires available in our drop-in study space, and on Blackboard.

Group support sessions

We offer group support sessions on specific areas each semester. Check out the STIMulate Blackboard site for more details.

Postgraduate students in any discipline can attend our symposia in statistical thinking. Register for these symposia through the Research Students Centre.
