Rationale
To successfully navigate the music industry, you need an accurate working knowledge of structural, legal and business aspects of these industries. Technological and industrial advances are constant so staying current with these changes is inherent to formulating strategies for success.
Aims
The aim of this unit is to guide you in understanding relevant areas of the music industry in order to confidently work within them. This requires actively engaging with a diverse group of real world practictioners across a range of music industry careers.
Objectives
By the end of this unit you should be able to:
1. Understand business structures currently common in the music industry
2. Understand how the processes of publishing, recording and distribution of music are shifting with technological advances
3. Formulate strategies for success in areas of the music industry relevant to your chosen domain
4. Apply ways to find current information relevant to your area of the music industry
