QUT Course Structure

Course structure information

General Information

There are two core units, EDP415 and EDP416, and these can be completed at any time during the course, in either sem 1 or sem 2. They can both be studied either internally or via the internet.

Of the six remaining units to be studied, at least two must be selected from the Education Faculty courses. The other four units can be chosen from any Faculty in the University, which gives you the opportunity to select discipline units for a particular teaching area.

To find the semester availability and mode of offering of units, go to the unit outline on the following link: https://qutvirtual.qut.edu.au/portal/pls/portal/unout_search_p.show_public

Alternatively, to find the semester availability and mode of offering, you can click on the unit code in the Studyfinder course entry. Then in the synopsis of the unit, under the Campus heading, you will see one or more of the following: Kelvin Grove, Gardens Point, internet, external. Internal offerings are indicated by the name of the campus.

Students must follow the individual course rules concerning prerequisite study when selecting units, as all units listed below form part of an Education Faculty course. Similarly, if choosing discipline units from courses in other Faculties, the particular course rules must be followed concerning prerequisites.

Please note, that practicum or field studies units may not be undertaken in the B Ed (Inservice) course.

Master of Education units cannot be studied under the B Ed (Inservice) course either.
