Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM)

ACHSM is the peak professional body for health managers in Australasia and brings together health leaders to learn, network and share ideas. The College aims to build relationships between the health sector and universities to ensure that graduates meet the needs of the health and aged care industries.

Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)

AASW is the professional representative body of social workers in Australia. One of its functions is to review and accredit social work degrees offered by universities throughout Australia. An AASW-accredited course provides entry into the profession of social work and meets the minimum eligibility requirements for AASW membership.

Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA)

ACWA is the professional association for all paid and unpaid human services workers in Australia, regardless of their occupational title or educational background. The association accredits community services-related courses in Australia, assesses those wishing to migrate to Australia under the occupation of welfare worker, and provides continuing professional education for human service practitioners, students and volunteers.

Australian Counselling Association (ACA)

ACA is Australia's largest single registration body for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. ACA serves a crucial role in advocating and advancing the profession of counselling and psychotherapy. A key objective of the ACA is to monitor, maintain, set and improve professional standards in counsellor education and practice.

Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

AHPRA’s Podiatry Accreditation Committee is appointed by the Podiatry Board of Australia to assess and accredit podiatric education programs that produce graduates who are eligible for registration as a podiatrist in Australia and New Zealand.

Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS)

AIMS is the professional association representing medical scientists in all disciplines of pathology, working predominantly in hospital and private medical laboratories in Australia. The Institute accredits degree courses in medical laboratory science offered by Australian universities, assesses the overseas qualifications of medical scientists and medical laboratory technical officers, and provides medical scientists with the opportunity to continually update their professional knowledge.

Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT)

ASMIRT represents health professionals who work in diagnostic radiography/medical imaging, radiation therapy and ultrasound in Australia. ASMIRT accredits diagnostic radiography and medical imaging courses in Australia and provides support for its members, including professional development programs.

Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC)

ANMAC is the authority responsible for accrediting education providers and programs of study for the nursing and midwifery profession, to ensure that students have the knowledge, skills and professional attributes to practise their profession and be registered by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. ANMAC also undertakes skills assessments of internationally qualified nurses and midwives seeking permanent migration to Australia.

Australian OHS Education Accreditation Board

The Australian OHS Education Accreditation Board accredits occupational health and safety (OHS) professional education programs that meet the accreditation criteria. Holders of accredited qualifications are then deemed to meet the knowledge requirement for certification as generalist OHS professionals.

Australian Pharmacy Council

The Australian Pharmacy Council is the authority responsible for accrediting education providers and programs of study for the pharmacy profession, on behalf of the Pharmacy Board of Australia and the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand. The Council also assesses the competency of Australian intern and overseas pharmacists.

Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)

APAC accredits education providers and psychology programs of study in Australia to ensure that graduates of APAC-accredited programs are suitably qualified for registration as psychologists by the Psychology Board of Australia.

Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR)

ASAR provides accreditation for sonography education programs in Australia through a framework of policies, processes and standards, as well as maintaining a register of accredited sonographers and student sonographers.

Council of Ambulance Authorities Inc (CAA)

CAA provides accreditation for tertiary entry-level paramedic programs to ensure that graduates from these programs have achieved the requisite competencies required for employment with an Australasian ambulance service as an entry-level ambulance paramedic.

Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA)

DAA provides leadership in, and accreditation of courses in food and nutrition. A graduate of a DAA-accredited dietetics program is eligible to become a DAA member and join the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) program. Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) have the qualifications and skills to provide expert nutrition and dietary advice to groups and individuals.

Environmental Health Australia (EHA)

EHA is a national organisation committed to the professional development and status of its members, and the enhancement of environmental health standards and services to the community through advocacy, promotion, education and leadership. EHA also accredits courses which train environmental health professionals and assesses overseas qualifications.

Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA)

ESSA aims to foster excellence in professional practice, education and training, and research. ESSA provides universities with a framework to build courses of excellence in exercise and sports science, while aligning graduates with industry knowledge and requirements. Full membership is a prerequisite for obtaining ESSA accreditation as an accredited exercise physiologist and/or sports scientist.

Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA)

HIMAA is the peak professional body for health information management professionals in Australia and accredits all Health Information Management degree courses in Australia. Formal competency standards ensure courses are contemporary and relevant, and represent the specialist professional skills and attributes required of new graduates.

Optometry Council of Australia and New Zealand (OCANZ)

OCANZ assesses undergraduate optometry courses and postgraduate courses in ocular therapeutics in Australia and New Zealand. Graduates of OCANZ-accredited optometry courses can seek general registration with the Optometry Board of Australia and the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board, New Zealand. OCANZ assesses overseas optometry qualifications and conducts competency-based examinations for international optometrists.

Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia

The Medical Radiation Practice Accreditation Committee was established by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia to develop accreditation standards, and assess and monitor education providers and programs of study.

Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia
